 Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Pandemic Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases. Everyone is talking about coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Be sure to get your facts from reliable sources. The United Nations is closely monitoring the situation with the COVID-19 outbreak.  Until there are vaccines or drugs for Covid-19, people have to continue with non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPI), such as face masks, hand hygiene, social distancing, and isolation. Protect yourself and those around you.

Get vaccinated as soon as it’s your turn and follow local guidance on vaccination. Cover your mouth and nose with a bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of used tissues immediately and clean hands regularly. If you develop symptoms or test positive for COVID-19, self-isolate until you recover.With the latest COVID-19 deaths reported to WHO now exceeding 3.3 million, based on the excess mortality estimates produced for 2020. COVID-19 deaths are a key indicator to track the evolution of the pandemic. At  home  when someone in your house tests positive for Covid, there are some guidelines you should follow — including for when you test negative but develop symptoms.

  • COVID-19 is spreading in your community, stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue. Make sure it covers both your nose, mouth and chin. When you take off a mask, store it in a clean plastic bag, and every day either wash it if it’s a fabric mask, or dispose of a medical mask in a trash bin.don’t use masks with valves.
